Before you begin

Prep time:
Cook time: 35-40 minutes @ 350°F
Yields:

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c flour
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1 t ground ginger
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1/4 c butter
  • 1/2 c molasses
  • 1 can (5 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 egg, beaten

Directions

  1. Combine dry ingredients and set aside.

  2. Melt butter and beat in molasses, then milk.

  3. Add the egg.

  4. Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients and stir to combine.

  5. Bake in a greased glass pan (square) for 35-40 minutes undisturbed.
