Vodka Sauce

I got this recipe from my hairdresser, Linda, while we were talking about good recipes and our mutual love of Wegmans.

Ingredients

  • 6 tblsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 3/4 c vodka
  • 1c crushed tomatoes
  • 1c whipping cream
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 c grated parmesan
  • pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Heat butter until melted, add garlic and red peppers. Saute for 2 minutes.

  2. Stir in vodka; simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occassionally.

  3. Add tomatoes, mix well. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occassionally.

  4. Stir in cream and salt. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.

  5. Add cheese and mix well.

  6. Add pepper to taste.
